Day 9

Breakfast
-Steel cut oats with brown sugar, cinnamon and handful of frozen blueberries and home toasted pecans-See Day 7 Breakfast entry- re-heated leftovers- worked great- no morning measuring or delays!  Used NO salt, no butter products and no milk.
-Low sugar apple juice

Lunch
-Fresh fruit
-Bear Naked Fruit and Nut Natural Granola (see product photo in earlier entries-  zero sodium)
-Home toasted pecans

Snack
-Baked sweet potato with brown sugar, cinnamon and handful of home toasted pecans- Bake in microwave for about 4-6 minutes depending on size.  Slice open and add brown sugar, cinnamon and chopped pecans.  Optional- add non-dairy/non soy margarine.

Dinner


-Pumpkin black bean soup- We have been making this tasty Rachel Ray five star rated Food Network soup for several years.  Click here for the recipe.  Made the following modifications:  no milk/no cream/ used salt free canned tomatoes, pumpkin puree, and 2 cans unsalted black beans. Used Herb Ox sodium free instant broth chicken bouillon instead of chicken stock (see product photo below.)
-Garden salad
-Sorbet- HT Traders Lemon flavor; zero sodium; no dye.


New Products Used Today

1 packet plus 1 cup of boiling water. 10 calories per packet. Purchased from Harris Teeter grocery store.

Zero sodium; no dyes.  100 calories per serving.  Purchased from Harris Teeter grocery store.
